Beaches

One of the major tourist attractions is whale watching at the Dondra Point, where your eyes will be treated to the magnificent treat of watching the world’s largest mammal swimming in all its glory. Galle, Bentota, Hikkaduwa, Beruwela, Unawatuna and Tangalle towards the south of Sri Lanka make for some of the most beautiful beaches and quite obviously the favourite holiday destinations for tourists.

Hill Country
The towering waterfalls of Nuwara Eliya offering a refreshing view extending from the Laksapana Falls to Backers Falls has always had tourists wrapped in awe and amazement. Nuwara Eliya presents a haven for golf enthusiasts housing a golf course spread over a sprawling 90 acres. The Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya houses an assortment of exotic plants and trees from across the globe.

Sigiriya
Make sure you have plenty of storage space in your camera while you visit this place as you are bound to start clicking the moment you set foot on this rock fortress, standing a good 200 metres above the forested plain. The rocks in Sigiriya are well known for their graffiti fashioned by the first tourists who visited this place. Frescoes adorning Sigiriya are some of the most treasured collection of ancient and art work.

Wildlife
Sri Lanka has a lot in store for those fanatic animal lovers with Safaris, soft and hard treks and bird watching. Take a detour to the Yala National Park for that adrenaline pumped Safari through the wild. With an astonishing population density of elephants, Yala also has one of the highest numbers of leopards in the world. Yala also provides an avenue for ornithology enthusiasts.
