Ayurveda

Ayurveda ‘the science of life/health’ evolved in India around 600 BC. Today, Kerala is the only Indian state where such systems are practiced with unerring dedication. Ayurvedic medicine stresses the prevention and cure of bodily ailments and the treatment of the whole individual, not just the affected part. Naturalistic methods based on the diagnosis of the individual’s three humours – vatta, pitta and kapha – are used to tone up the nervous system, eliminate toxins and restore the body to good health. Ayurvedic treatments are most effective during the monsoon months when nature rejuvenates itself. The human body, being so closely related with nature, too seeks for rejuvenation. In Kerala, the rains come with humidity. This makes the pores in our skin open out to the maximum, thereby, making it more receptive to the herbal oils & therapy.
